ready, set, jump!

Colorado has the most gorgeous sunsets. This, of course, provides great opportunities for low-light photography.

The girls, getting ready to jump. (I never did get them both off the ground at the same time.) I love the bird flying across my shot.

Miss M, gettin' a little air.

And, our friend David, doing the Toyota jump.

For my photog friends, here's the settings on these: ISO 100, f/8, 1/200.

my favorite Colorado things...

I never knew that I'd be so glad to see dandelions. They make me happy.

So does real grass.

And, of course, the mountains.

Loving Colorado! It just feels "right."

they call it art...

Photobucket
A friendly Texas barbed wire fence tried to keep us out.

Photobucket
Cans of half-empty spray paint taunted us.

Photobucket
Who, us? No, we didn't do all that.

Photobucket
It's the Cadillac ranch, just west of Amarillo, TX. What is it, you ask? Why, art, of course! It's as old as I am. In 1974 (the year of my birth) a group of artists decided to half-bury 10 cars into the earth. Cadillacs to be precise.

Photobucket
They're vintage alright. I felt the need to give these photos the same feel. Originally, the photos were screaming loud. Way too bright for my liking.

Photobucket
A little graffiti artist in the making.

Photobucket
She looks bad, doesn't she?

Photobucket
Graffiti artist no. 2 in the making.

Photobucket
Just to prove we were all there.

Photobucket
That's about all the fun we can have for one day! Thanks to our friends, Heather and Marc for telling us about this place. We had fun!

hello, Houston!

We've been a traveling family for the past several weeks. One of the first things I do when I get to Houston is get my haircut. I don't know why. I guess it's because they've never given me a cut I didn't like. And, it's cheap! I took the girls this time too because I just didn't have it in me to cut it myself.

Photobucket
Short and sweet.

Photobucket
A "before" picture would have been a good idea, but I was getting my hair cut at the same time. Oh well. It was nearly twice this length pre-cut.

Photobucket
We had fun re-connecting with some of David's old Rice friends. They had a rope swing that the girls loved.

Rice University. David's alma-mater. I had the great idea to take some photos there. It's a beautiful campus, and I thought we should somehow have it documented. The girls were not so into my idea. And, it was raining. Pouring really.

How about one of just the two of us. Oh, wait, who's that jumping into my photo?!

Photobucket
After their hard work posing for my camera (for all of 15 mintues!) we took the girls to a nearby playground.

Goodbye, Houston! We miss your great Asian food and discount bookstores. And of course, family and friends. See ya' later!
