Take your unwanted crayons. My girls enjoyed sorting them by color and peeling most of the wrappers off.
After the wrappers are peeled off, break 'em up into little pieces. Bake in a muffin tin at 170F for 15-30 minutes or until they're totally melted.
After they've cooled, stick the pan in the freezer for a few mintues.
They'll pop right out of the muffin tins, and presto: crayon chunks.

ReplyDeleteI LOVE these! I've heard of doing this before, but your pics make me want to go digging for that bag of old crayon nubs and give it a try! The colors in these are great!

ReplyDeleteI love the colors! And the reflections in the second shot! I remember always meaning to do this when my kids were little but not getting around to it. I wonder how it would look if you mixed colors. Do you suppose they would just turn into a muddy brown or be speckled and pretty?

ReplyDeleteGreat shots...we have done these before with different colors mixed together and made rainbow crayons!
